About Me
Dr. Leigh Ann Humphries is an Assistant Professor and the Director of Reproductive Endocrinology Surgery at the UCSF Center for Reproductive Health. She is a reproductive endocrinologist and fertility specialist, with double fellowship training in both Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. This dual expertise allows her to treat the surgical causes of infertility and offer continuity of fertility care afterward. In addition to offering the full spectrum of fertility treatments for patients trying to conceive, she specializes in the management of endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids, Asherman’s syndrome, ovarian cysts, uterine anomalies, isthmocele (cesarean scar defects), tubal disease, and other gynecologic conditions. She performs surgery via hysteroscopic, laparoscopic, and robotic-assisted approaches.
Dr. Humphries earned a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology (MSCE) during her clinical fellowships. Her research focuses on surgical and fertility outcomes for patients with endometriosis and adenomyosis, and she has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles, along with textbook chapters on reproductive surgery. Her work on uterus transplant outcomes in the United States has been recognized nationally. Her research has been honored with the Society of Reproductive Surgeons Prize Paper and In-Training Awards for Research.
She is a member of the Society of Reproductive Surgeons and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and she serves on the national Young Alumni Network Committee of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. She was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society in recognition of compassionate, patient-centered care.
